Alfelder Informationsmesse

The Alfelder Informationsmesse (AIM), a regional trade fare that takes place every two years in the town of Alfeld, wants to present itself via an interactive website.

I developed an interactive website that also facilitates the management of the fare.
The booth administration is integrated into the host's management console and allows to keep track of free booths, each booth's data (size, location, rent price), exhibitors etc. This functionality replaced a half-paper-half-spreadsheet process. Moreover, the host can publish news on the website, send a newsletter out to all exhibitors, sell banner advertisements, keep a media archive and schedule fare events.
Exhibitors were empowered by the software and can edit their profiles themselves, add their company logo to their profile and schedule events on the fare's calendar.
The information provided by the exhibitors is made available to the visitors of the fare through a full-text searchable catalog.

I was contacted, because the host heard that I had done good work for one of the exhibitors.
After two fares that successfully ran using this piece of software, the role of the AIM declined (e.g. no fare in 2009), the organisation committee of the AIM was restructured and decided not to use the software anymore. What a pity.
