BookStore
In the third semester of my bachelor's I took a System Engineering course at the chair of System Engineering and Database Application. The students were required to build a management software for the Student Union's used book exchange in teams of five.
My team built a fat client for a IBM DB2 powered backend system in Java that made use of the Amazon eCommerce API to facilitate data entry as well as bar codes for ease of use. These features combined with audit trails for the actions of the different users differentiated us from the other teams.
Apart from requirements engineering, system design and programming we also gave two well-received presentations. Our work as well as my individual contributions were graded with the highest mark available (1.0).
